#BEARS WR ROOM
The Bears just committed strong armed robbery trading a 4th for Keenan Allen. some fans are concerned as Allen is 32 years old. That’s considered “old” in NFL years. That shouldn’t concern Bears fans. I’ve always considered him the Travis Kelce of WRs, they both continue to get older yet they still get open & consistently get high end production.
I don’t see either dropping off anytime soon. They both take care of their bodies and are savvy route runners. That don’t need supreme athleticism to get open.
Keenan Allen is in the last year of his deal & there’s no certainty he re-signs. I know Ryan Poles will work his tail off to get him to at least sign a 2-3 year extension. I doubt he makes the deal if he doesn't think he can work a deal that benefits both parties. Yet there is no guarantee one is worked out.
However he ALWAYS has a contingency plan in place IN CASE something doesn’t work out. This years draft class is VERY TALENTED . A VERY DEEP WR class. I do not feel taking a WR is out of the question at any point if this draft. Would I like MHJ, Malik Nabers, or Rome Odunze...absolutely. They very well could be options if one falls to 9 & Poles feels they are BPA. I also wouldn't mind Poles trading back from 9 & looking at the likes of Brian Thomas, Adonai Mitchell, or Keon Coleman later in the 1st.
It'll be interesting to see what Poles does to fill out this years remaining WR room. Donte Pettis was just resigned as I'm writing. Will Velus remain a part of the rotation? Will they try to add a Josh Reynolds type as Swift pointed out in a recent tweet? Lots of options available for Ryan Poles and the Bears!
The Bears have come VERY far from that dreaded 2022 WR room where Byron Pringle, Equanemeous St. Brown, Dante Pettis were considered starters! It's a very exciting time to be a Bears fans! We haven't seen an offense (on paper) like this in almost a decade! The draft hasn't gotten here yet and there's a chance we may add another young dynamic WR!
Bears fans no longer have to worry about the WR room being the weakest unit
on the team! With our much improved defense we should have no issue not only being entertaining and competitive next season but there's no reason to believe we shouldn't be in the playoffs barring injuries.
It's a great day to be a Bears fan! Bear Down!
