#Bears Caleb/Fields saga 📝
Rapoport's recent report video confirms a lot of what most of us have been stressing. Folks take it as “Pro Fields & Caleb-Hate” when it’s far from the case.
I’ve always been of the impression it’s 50/50 in the building and there is SOME concern about Williams whether it’s the medicals or wanting to put him through a full workout and their normal visit evaluation like they did Carter last year. They want to confirm he checks all the boxes before moving on from Fields.
They are not comfortable trading Fields before the meeting. This is why they wanted to have Caleb’s meeting 2 days after the combine so they can make their decision and get the ball rolling on a trade BEFORE spots for QB needy teams started filling up during free agency IF that was the decision.
Since the meeting was pushed back I’ve said Poles has no reason to rush to move on before he meets with Caleb. He’s got up until the draft and still holds the #1 pick & the #9 pick. He controls the draft so what is the rush besides maybe missing out on early trade partners. 🤷🏾♂️
I’m sure they were aware this would take place and prepared for teams to fill Qb positions when the meeting was pushed back & they will be ok with whatever compensation they get IF they move in the direction of trading Fields.
But for those who act like they didn’t have any concerns or there SHOULDN’T be any concerns I think Poles and the crew think differently.
We’ll know soon enough.
